TRUE Dive Team has an application pending to the American Academy of Underwater Sciences (AAUS). This means that they meet or exceed the strict standards of that agency.
To meet AAUS qualifications, TRUE divers are (have), at a minimum:
- SCUBA Certified
- CPR and First Aid Certified (Annual)
- Oxygen Provider Certified (Annual)
- Pass a Written Exam
- Pass a Physical Exam
- Pass a Swim Test
- 12 science dives in the last 12 months
Safety is always our number one concern. To ensure this, we require our adult ‘Lead Divers’ to be Divemasters or SCUBA Instructor certified. TRUE works directly with the National Association of Underwater Instructor (NAUI) and currently has 2 NAUI Instructors and 6 NAUI Divemasters directly involves in the organization.
All adult leaders, including non-dive leadership, undergo Safe Child Training and screening.
As the TRUE Divers’ experience grows, we offer further training and certifications that include:
- Advanced Certification
- NITROX Certification
- Specialty Certifications (e.g., Underwater Navigation)
- Rescue Certification
- Master Diver Certification
When TRUE Divers graduate from the program and leave for college, they have the option to return as alumni and serve as leadership and the possibility of acquiring their NAUI Divemaster certification.
